Hi Friends!!
I have another federal lawsuit for you to follow!
This federal lawsuit is Dewalt vs. Department of Human Services.
This is another case involving the Special Victims Unit of the Department of Human Services. Once again, the Dewalt family is a loving family that chose to adopt. According to the allegations in this case, Child Protective Services did not receive a report of abuse or neglect.
So how did the State end up with their adoptive son?
That is one of the many questions raised by this lawsuit.
The Dewalt's had to fight for seven months to have their son returned home. While the case is now closed and their son is back where he belongs, the impact on this family did not simply disappear when the case ended. The emotional, financial, and personal toll of such an ordeal can last long after a child is returned.
This is a case that I am following closely and advocating for. As more information becomes available, I will continue sharing updates, court filings, and responses from the parties involved so that you can follow the case for yourself.
