Update on DFCS Director Candice Broce's Husband's Case

Hi Friends!

I wanted to stop in with an update on a case that I have been following since October 17, 2025. This is the case involving Jason Broce, the husband of Georgia DFCS Director Candice Broce.

Do you remember when he was reportedly arrested on charges including:

  • Two counts of DUI – Endangering a Child Under the Age of 14

  • Following Too Closely (Accident)

  • DUI – Alcohol Less Safe (First Offense)

  • Hit and Run / Failure to Render Aid

  • Failure to Maintain Lane

Have you wondered what has happened with the case?

I have been following up with the Probate Court in Bartow County, and for several months the court date was continued from one month to the next.

A bench trial was eventually scheduled for June 17, 2026.

On June 24, 2026, I contacted the Probate Court for an update and was informed that a motion had been filed requesting that the case be transferred from Probate Court to Superior Court. According to the information I received, the request seeks a jury trial.

This morning, I followed up with the Superior Court to ask whether a trial date had been set. I was informed that no trial date has been scheduled and that, depending on the court's calendar and other factors, it could take anywhere from six months to two years before the case goes to trial.

What are your thoughts? Why do you think the defense requested that the case be transferred to Superior Court for a jury trial instead of proceeding with the bench trial that had been scheduled in Probate Court?

As always, I'll continue following the case and will share updates as new information becomes available.

Stay tuned!

God Bless!

Until next time ❤️
